About

Amelia Carroll was born in Sydney, Australia in 1993. She graduated from The National Art School in 2016 with a Bachelor in Fine Arts, majoring in painting. Finding her inspiration in nature, Amelia aims to create an atmospheric presence through her blurred expansive landscapes. She directly engages with the photographic image as reference for her paintings. In doing so she contemplates the nature of painting and its relationship with the digital image. She uses soft horizontal blending to create an overall smoothness and surface continuity that alludes to the photographic nature of the work. She is currently represented by Liverpool Street Gallery.
